Shorts 4: YOU PAY, I DESIRE
Sex work has many voices and the terms and conditions are multifaceted. This short film program brings together reflections, whispers and giggles of sex workers, as they navigate business and themselves. Scorpionikas – countermanifesto takes us to the archive, uncovering the people contained within it, before it reflects on the future of trans sex workers in Brazil. In The Jezebels, a group of pole dancers in Brussels ponder about the space that they are creating together. Set on a mattress, I really want to get fucked is an honest and introspective inner monologue about pleasure and being a queer sex worker of color, followed up by The Keys to Dreams, a trippy journey through a porn set. Haunting the dreams and fantasies of clients, You’re not a Regular : A Porn made for Almans invites us into the world of an escort roaming the streets of Berlin at night. Finally, a search for a missing friend becomes a commitment to community in Picumã.

Scorpionikas – Countermanifesto (Escorpiônikas – Contramanifesto)
In a fusion of manifesto and performance, “Scorpionikas” crosses three continents to follow an insurgent collective—trans women, sex workers, and racialized and gender non-conforming voices—as they confront and dismantle the colonial and patriarchal systems that oppress them. Through radical acts of resistance, captivating performances, and intimate interviews, the film intertwines their stories with haunting archival footage: from the brothels of the Klondike Gold Rush in the 1890s to the heart of 1990s Brazil, and a convent turned art center of 2025s Barcelona.
